World War Z Movie Teaser Trailer and Preview Pictures

The popular book "World War Z" by Max Brooks consists of a series of interviews with survivors of a zombie outbreak. The  movie rights to the novel were purchased in 2007 by Brad Pitt's production company, Plan B Entertainment.

Unfortunately, according to the "World War Z" movie official plot synopsis from Paramount, it is going to be Rated PG-13 and will have less focus on the survivors telling their stories with flashbacks, and be more about Gerry Lane (UN fact-finder and family man)  running around the world, racing against time to stop a zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments, and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

While this is just a synopsis that makes it sound like it will be strictly an action flick starring a UN worker attempting to stop the inevitable demise of civilization as we know it, foregoing the interview-flashback format and having the main character go to the places that survivors talk about to live through it first hand just may work in the movie's favor.

"World War Z" will be in theaters on the day of the Mayan Apocalypse: December 21st, 2012. AAHH!!
I know where I'll be when everyone else is freaking out about the end of the world. At the movies. Watching zombies.

** UPDATE***
Apparently, I won't be at the movies watching zombies on the date of the Mayan Apocalypse. According to IMDb the new release date for "World War Z" is now June 21, 2013.

On the plus side, this means they have more time to get the movie done right before it is shipped off to theaters. Unfortunately, this also means that I need to make other plans for December 21st... *sigh*

Read the reasons why the movie's release date has been pushed back to June 21, 2013 here.
